1953 Faro Basso Vespa

The iconic "faro basso" (meaning low-light) early 1950's Vespa model that buzzed all over Italy and got everyone moving again just after the war .

This 1953 version was made world famous in the same year staring in the Hollywood movie "Roman Holiday" starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. Mr Peck swoons the pretty young Hepburn while riding around Rome on his Vespa scooter and showing her all the sites as a passenger and even teaches her to ride it.

This scooter was fully restored in by Scooter Meccanica by a renowned classic scooter restorer Sandy Symeonides, for his client Greg Curry that wanted to present the scooter at his family's reunion where the original owner Ray, his grandfather, would be presented his restored Vespa VM after owning it from new. He called her 'Little Thunder.' The Vespa has been given a new life and is cherished by the Curry family, and will be loved and ridden for many generations to come.
